Sleeping Princess Trail, Kingman, AZ

While we have been on the Rubicon Trail in july, 2014, I discussed with Wayne, whether we could setup a trail run to do Sleeping Princess and Moss Wash near Kingman, AZ. Wayne said, I should just let him know, when we would be there and then we will do this trails. I posted them up at Offroadpassport and Mike and his friends registered to join us on this trails. On march, 7th we met Wayne at the Pilot/Flying J Truck Stop in Kingman, AZ. Mike and his friends wanted to join us at the trail head and Brad, a friend of Wayne, also planned to join us there. So we fueled up and drove on AZ68 to the Sleeping Princess trailhead at around 11S733744/3897595 (UTM/NAD27). Besides Sleeping Princess, we also tackled the Bob Miller extension and Hell´s Half Mile as extra credit options.

After the pictures below, there are a couple of videos, too. They had been taken from the big obstacle on Hell´s Half Mile.

    As we tried last year to reach the rim region above Bonal Springs on the Paria Plateau and were not successful, we wanted to try it this year again. We luckily had perfect weather conditions for this trip and there was no snow on the plateau this year in march. Additionally there was some snow some days ago, which already went away, so that the sand on the Paria Plateau was in perfect condition. To be faster in reaching the Vermilion Cliffs, we decided to stay in the Lee´s Ferry Lodge. The restaurant is supposed to have a huge selection of beers from all over the world.
